After a 40-year career in higher education—psychology professor and college dean—I retired in 2012. Finally I have more time to fish, travel, and engage in community service. In that same year, I became a Trout in the Classroom volunteer at the school that three of my grandchildren attend. Since then my role evolved into being statewide coordinator of Vermont’s TIC program, which now supports more than 100 tanks. I particularly love fishing Vermont’s pristine, high-gradient, brook trout streams.
