hook: york bend 2 or 3x long shank 6-10

thread: uni 8/0 black or red

tail: twisted orange yarn and red deer hair

abdomen: yellow fine dry dubbing

hackle: brown

wing: turkey tail flexcement and deer hair above that

head: spun deer hair. make sure to use a lot of deer hair. you want a tight head for floating

legs: tied pheasent tails

 

awesome natural grasshopper. some say foam bodies dont ride as low and thus dont give as realistic profile, so a natural materials hopper will give you that, a low riding, realistic hopper.
